On June 26, 2010 The Iowa Bass Federation Nation hosted the Iowa State Junior Championship on pool 10 of the Mississippi River.
Launch of 13 boats was at Prairie du Chien at 7:00 am with 15 youth participating.
The weigh in was at 2:00 pm. This was a catch and release tournament with the fish being caught, recorded and released at the site of being caught.
The 11 to 14 age group winner was Seth Holub from Robins with 5 lbs. 10 ozs.
The 15 to 18 age group was won by Jacob Ginneberge-Campbell of Iowa City with 4 lbs. 7 ozs.
Big fish was a tie in the younger age group with both Jacob Maloney of Cedar Rapids and Josh Miller of Lisbon catching a 1 lb 9 oz bass.
For the older group the big bass winner was Austin Wirtz of Jesup with a bass of 2 lbs 7 ozs.
Boats and adults from the Iowa Bass Federation Nation provided their services to safely guide these youth and prizes were donated by Cabelas.
A great big thank you is extended to all of the parents, boaters and IBFN leaders who helped to make this event successful.

CALL FOR 2011 TOURNAMENT PROPOSALS
Now is the time to start putting together proposals for tournament sites for 2011.
All Proposals welcome!
Ron Cherkas - State Team Triton Sponsorship
I want to thank the many Iowa Bass Federation members for all of the support and best wishes given to me prior to the trip to the National Championship. All I can say is guys and gal(s)....just keep trying. It is never to late to get there. Only those of you who have made or barely missed the opportunity to fish the classic know the heart break that I felt after losing the couple of fish that would have got me to the big show.
I want to thank Triton Boats, Motor Guide, Mercury and Lowrance Electronics, as will all of you, for the $3000 Alliance Contingency award that I received.
A check for $3000 matching money was sent to the Iowa Federation, which we all should take note of. This is one real good reason to purchase a Triton boat and fish the Alliance Program. I and the Federation are still waiting for the $3500 from Ranger boats from 3 years ago, which we all know will never be received.
The Triton incentive is the best sponsorship that is available to us and is even better if you are a Triton Gold Member. Please consider a Triton as your next boat, if not for the fact alone that it is a great piece of equipment, especially when rigged with Mercury, Motorguide and Lowrance.
Triton has made a very large cash contribution to the Iowa Federation in the form of a sponsorship, which we need to thank Tom Bowler for negotiating. Earl Bentz has shown us that he is truly interested in helping the Federation to succeed with an organized Federation Program. We all need to contact him and display our grattitude, and we need to consider his great product when the time arises.
Thanks again everyone, and good luck to the state team at Bays De Noc and to the qualifier who gets to go to the Harris Chain. Ron Cherkas, ron@imagetransform.com
